How to Access the Online Student Bill
- Access your PAWS Account
- Login with your PAWS ID and password
- Click on the View/ Pay your Bill Link
First Time Users - Student Financial Responsibility Agreement and Paperless 1098-T Option
- The first time you access the online center you will need to accept the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement and decide how you would like to receive your 1098-T tax statement
- Click I Agree at the bottom of the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement Page to agree to the conditions.
- You will next see the Paperless 1098-T Option:
- click Accept Consent to receive your 1098-T electronically
- click I do not consent to receive a paper copy
- You will then be taken to the Student Account
How to view Account Activity
- Click the Account Activity heading on the menu line or click the View Account Activity button
- You will see the Account Activity page showing all of your activity
- To see activity for a specific term, click the drop-down arrow next to View Transactions by Term
- Select the term you wish to view, and click Select
- All charges, payments, estimated financial aid, and aid awarded will be listed on this screen. Financial aid will appear under Estimated Financial Aid until it has posted to the student account. Once posted, the aid will move down to the Account Activity section
How to View eBill Statements
- Access your PAWS Account
- Login with your PAWS ID and password
- Click on the View/ Pay your Bill Link
- From the main My Account screen, click Statements in the menu bar or click the link to the latest bill in the statements section
- Choose the statement you wish to view by clicking the drop-down menu next to select the statement to view on the eStatements screen
- The most recent statement will appear at the top of the list
- Click View to access the eStatement
- Note: Statements are time and date specific. If you had student account activity since the time and date the statement process ran, your statement will be outdated. Please use the On-Demand Statement for real time activity.
Sign up for Text Message Alerts for Your Account
- Click on the Personal Profile link from the main page
- Under security settings, setup Two-Step Verification
- Go back to Personal Profile tab
- To the right of Mobile Number click
- Enter your cell phone number and service provider and click Save
- After you save, click the checkbox to send me additional text messages
(Contact the Bursar’s Office if your service provider is not listed)
Two-Step Verification for Your Account
- Two-Step verification an extra step added to the process, such as a code sent to your phone or email, that helps verify your identity and prevent cyber-criminals from accessing your personal information.
- Your student account is setup with your phone number in our system. If you are experiencing issues, email bursar so that we can delete the pre-saved profile. This deletion will require you to establish a new phone number in your student account for verifications.
How to Add Authorized Users (Parents, Guardians, other Payers)
- From the main My Account screen, select Authorized Users under My Profile Setup
- The Authorized Users screen will appear
- Enter the email address of the authorized user you wish to add
- Define the level of access you wish to provide and click Yes or No, where appropriate
- Click Continue to proceed
- The Agreement to Add Authorized User will appear
- Click the checkbox next to I Agree to grant access then click Continue
- If you do not wish to proceed with adding the authorized user, click Cancel
- Confirmation that the authorized user has been added will appear
- An email will be sent to the authorized user including instructions and a web link to access your Student Account
Authorized User Access verses FERPA
- Adding an Authorized User will allow the individual access to only the content in the student account that you authorized them to review and to take action on, if appropriate.
- The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records.The right to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student's education records does apply to financial records.
- Without being added to the student's FERPA waiver (consent to disclose information), Savannah State should not disclose any personally identifiable information.
- If you would like for Savannah State to speak with someone other than you about your student account, regardless of who they are or their relationship to you, add them to your FERPA waiver in PAWS, under Student Portal.
How to make a payment
- You have several options to make a payment. Click Make a Payment from the menu bar or the Make a payment button found on most screens
- You will be taken to the Account Payment screen
- Click the checkbox next to the term you want to make a payment towards
- Enter the amount to pay in the box to the right of the term balance
- The payment date will default to today, to make a future payment enter that date into the payment date field or click the calendar icon and select a future date
- Click Continue to proceed to the payment method screen
- Click the drop-down to select how you wish to pay. We accept payment via electronic check (ACH) and debit or credit cards. Debit/Credit cards will charge an additional fee but ACH is free
- To make an ACH payment from your checking or savings account, select Electronic Check from the Payment Method drop down menu and click Continue
- Enter your bank account information on the Account Information
- To save this payment method for future use, complete the Option to Save fields
- Click Continue when ready to proceed with payment
- To pay by Debit/Credit card, choose Credit Card via PayPath from the payment method drop-down, then click continue
- This will take you to PayPath to complete your payment
- After you complete your payment, the Payment Receipt will appear notifying you that your payment was successful or if there were issues
- A copy of the payment confirmation will be sent to your SSU email account
