Biography

Kai Walker (M.F.A in film and video, the Savannah College of Art and Design and the International School of the Arts) has taught in the department since 2003, taught in Egypt as a study-abroad faculty member and currently serves as the university’s honors program director. She was the co-producer, videographer and web designer for the documentary “From West Broad Street to MLK Jr. Blvd.” for the National Black Program Consortium: Eyes on the Prize, 2008. Her current projects include documentaries on the oldest continuously-owned black funeral home in Georgia and Reverend Bennie Mitchell, Jr.

Research Interests

Areas of research/scholarship include the promotion and propagation of the emasculated of the Black male image.
