Bernard Bongang

Biography

Bernard L. Bongang (Ph.D. and M.A. in International Studies, University of South Carolina in Columbia; M.S. in Journalism, Boston University) is a jointly-appointed professor of journalism and political science. He has worked at the United Nations Radio and the U.N. Department of Disarmament Affairs in New York.  He consulted for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research and for the Department of Homeland Security. His television work includes Through Northern Eyes, a documentary about Western media influences on African audiences. He was the first executive-producer of Tam-Tam Weekend, a TV magazine show on the Cameroon Radio and Television Corporation. His views have been cited in many media outlets including The Atlanta Journal ConstitutionThe Des Moines Register, and Savannah Morning News.

Research Interests

The exercise of complex dimensions of power in relations between developing and developed countries especially within international organizations.
