The chemistry program at SSU has been approved to offer the American Chemical Society (ACS) certified BS degree to students who complete the ACS required curriculum. In addition, we offer non-ACS-certified BS in Chemistry.
The chemistry program has well qualified and dedicated faculty members who enjoy teaching. The program has state-of-art equipment and facilities for learning and research purposes. Our chemistry faculty maintain very active undergraduate research programs.

Mandatory Student Safety Training
All students in chemistry laboratory courses are required to attend online trainings through the website of University System of Georgia, Environmental Health and Safety. Each student should present three certificates of completion at the beginning of each semester.
(When you enter the training, click on the blue Next>> button at the upper right side of the page then follow directons within the DOAS Web site. After you have completed the training, you are required to print a copy of the certificate acknowledging that your training is complete. You will need to mark your status as student.)
