Meet the Team

Dr. Lisa Yount is the QEP Director and Associate Professor of Philosophy. She has been with Savannah State University since 2007. She is a passionate teacher who loves to inspire students think about the world and their role and responsibility within it. She works with faculty to develop activities and assignments that use writing as a tool for learning in their classes, no matter what the discipline. Her job of overseeing "The Write Attitude" allows her to work with interesting and innovative teachers, staff, and students, who all strive to make our campus a place where writing is valued and understood as essential for the rigors of the classroom, success in the workplace, and an orientation toward life-long learning.

Kiara Lewis is the Student Outreach Coordinator for the QEP. She is an alumna of Savannah State University, from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Language & Literature. She strongly believes in everyone's capability to be great. Therefore, Ms. Lewis is bringing her passion and experience in creative writing, as well as organizational skills to the team and University in hopes of creating an even more successful learning environment.

 

Adriana de Oliveira is the Communications Coordinator for the QEP. Mrs. Oliveira received her Master's degree of Science in Communication from the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). She has worked for important corporations, universities and nonprofit organizations in the Corporate Communications, Public Relations, and Social Responsibility fields. Mrs. Oliveira had the opportunity to experience other cultures, living, studying, and working in Brazil, France and the USA.

Jora McDonald is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of the QEP. She is an alumna of Savannah State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Mrs. McDonald brings with her eleven years of customer service experience and her drive and passion to better serve her alma mater. Mrs. McDonald strongly believes in the mission and vision of SSU and plans on being a vital component of this successful institution.
