Career Services & Leadership Development Center

The SSU Career Services & Leadership Development Center provides SSU students and alumni a platform for personal  and leadership development, career explorations, and professional networking to help SSU Tigers transform their degree into the career of their dreams.

Career Services Office

The Career Services Office provides professional preparation counseling for all students and alumni seeking employment, graduate school information, cooperative education and internship opportunities. Career Services acts as a liaison between employers, academic programs and students. Additionally, the office maintains placement files of students and alumni entering the work force or considering a career change.

SSU Handshake Portal

SSU Handshake is a web-based career connections database that allows SSU students and alumni to establish and regularly update their detailed profile with their resume and career interest to create professional networking and career opportunities. Students can also register for career and graduate school fairs as well as attend special training sessions offered by SSU and our corporate partners.

Employers and University partners can post career and internships opportunities as well as view student resumes and schedule interviews. They can also post special events and panel discussions.

S.T.R.I.P.E.S. Program

The STRIPES Program provides students the opportunity to participate in community/volunteer services and attend extracurricular seminars to assist with academic, personal, professional, and leadership development. STRIPES participation is documented and archived allowing students to retrieve a co-curricular transcript detailing their commitment to community service and personal development outside the classroom. Approved STRIPES events are posted on the @STRIPES social media pages (Twitter and Histogram).

Leadership Development

The CSLD Center provides learning opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and professional preparation throughout their enrollment.  Students can schedule appointments to complete leadership assessments, receive advisement on leadership decisions, or to participate in self-directed leadership activities. The CSLD Center also sponsors a variety of leadership trainings and extended leadership institutes throughout the year.
