Biography

David I. L. Poole began his theatre career in upstate New York in the early 1990s. He has directed over 50 productions in New York and produced over 60 works of theatre. His extensive background in theatre and education has taken him to many new and experimental venues at which to showcase his directing, designing, and puppeteering. He is a founding member of The Collective Face Theatre Ensemble(Savannah, GA) and has directed/designed several of their productions. Some recent directed works in include; Jesus Christ Superstar, Harvey, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, 9to5 the musical, Pygmalion, The Savannah Sipping Society, Boeing, Boeing, Calendar Girls, Death of a Salesman, Kiss of the Spider Women, The Little Prince, Grey Gardens, The Trip to Bountiful, Fool For Love, Bell, Book and Candle, Equus, Pride and Prejudice, Suddenly Last Summer, What the Butler Saw, No Exit, Angels in America Part I, Brighton Beach Memoirs, The Glass Menagerie (Collective Face), She Danced with a Red Fish (Dillard University, NOLA) Agamemnon, Gee’s Bend, Flight, Frankenstein, Flyin’ West (SSU), Poof!, Tick, Tick...Boom!, Through the Lookingglass, 365 days/365 plays(SCAD), ‘night Mother (Cardinal Rep), Barnum and Into the Woods (Asbury Memorial Theatre). Research Interests

Theatre, Classical Drama Adaptations, Avante-Garde Theatre, Migratory Aesthetics, the concept of home. gender and racial identity, community art practices, sacred space, performance art and practice.
