Camino Program

CAMINO, the College Access, Mentoring, Information and Outreach program will increase the percentage of Latino students matriculating in the three public institutions of higher education in Savannah Georgia from the current average of 3.2% to 6.4% by 2015. The three postsecondary institutions are Savannah State University, Savannah Technical College, and Armstrong Atlantic State University.

The program will be centered on Latino communities in the four Southeast Georgia counties that surround Savannah: Chatham, Liberty, Tattnall, and Toombs counties. This area has a total population of approximately 26,000 Latinos, representing an average of 6.84% of the total population in the four counties (Census 2010).

CAMINO is a proud partner for LUMINA Foundation's GOAL 2025 Latino Student Success initiative.
