SSU STEM 360
This activity is funded by Savannah State University’s Title III Office through the Department of Education
STEM 360 aims to increase awareness and participation in STEM disciplines, strengthening faculty advising and mentoring STEM students, educating students within our service area as a feeder into our STEM degree programs. The overall goal of this activity is to build the infrastructure that permits and contributes to a paradigm shift in the retention, education and graduation of underrepresented minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in the greater Savannah and surrounding areas. STEM 360 objectives will provide a foundation for SSU to sustainably educate parents, students and teachers, retain and graduate increased numbers of students in STEM fields for years to come.
1. Identify initiatives to increase progression in all COST degree programs and
significantly improve academic advising.
2. Identify initiatives to increase K-12 participation in STEM programs and
specifically future matriculation in COST degree programs.
3. Identify initiatives to build stronger industry and community partnerships and increase involvement in community.
