Summer Bridge and Summer Enhancement
July 1-26, 2019
Savannah State will offer an intensive summer bridge program to admitted incoming, first-time freshmen and a summer enhancement program for continuing students, who have not yet met core requirements in specific courses. These programs are designed to increase and support participating students’ progression to degree completion. These are two parallel summer programs with integrated learning support and a residential option.
Summer Bridge
The Summer Bridge (SB) program is for first-time freshmen entering SSU in fall.
- Open to incoming freshmen
- Take six credit hours
- Housing options available
Admission to Summer Bridge requires:
- Completion of a 2018-2019 FAFSA
- Attendance at the orientation June 28, 2019
Program requirements include:
- Completion of both courses, with an earned grade of “C” or better
- Participation in any related activities or tutoring
- Meetings with their assigned academic advisor
Summer Enhancement
The Summer Enhancement (SE) program is a summer program for eligible continuing or transfer students attending SSU in fall.
- Freshmen (under 30 earned credits) or Sophomores (31-59 credits)
- Take up to six credit hours
- Housing options available
Admission to Summer Enhancement requires:
- Completion of a 2018-2019 FAFSA
- Attendance at the orientation June 28, 2019
Program requirements include:
- Attending tutorial sessions with math and English learning specialists
- Attend meetings with academic advisors
- Completion of the courses with satisfactory earned grades
For Summer Bridge and Summer Enhancement
- Acceptance & Payment Deadline: June 27, 2019
- Orientation: June 28, 2019, for parents/guardians and students
- Students will meet academic advisors and receive class schedule. Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, Auxiliary Services (housing, meals, parking, etc.) representatives will be available to answer questions.
- Classes held Monday-Friday, July 1-26, 2019 (No classes July 4)
- Tuition and fees for six credits is $1,243.20
- Tuition and fees for three credits is $714.10
- Estimated cost of textbooks: $60-$150, depending on course requirement
- Residential Costs (OPTIONAL)
- $1,140 for housing and meals
