Biography

Dr. Emmanuel Naniuzeyi is a Professor of Political Science and Director of the International Education Center at Savannah State University. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Public Administration from the National University of Zaire, a M.A. in International Affairs from Ohio University, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Atlanta University. He is the former Executive Director of the Center for Research on the Congo, a position he held for 10 years. Before joing Savannah State University in 2004, Dr. Naniuzeyi taught at Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, and Spelman College. For over twenty five years, Dr. Naniuzeyi has exposed students to international and intercultural experiences through the Model United Nations program. His students had the opportunity to compete in various Model UN conferences held respectively in Scotland, China, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Mexico, Switzerland, England, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Singapore etc. He also had the privilege to organize Model UN conferences in Murcia, Spain in 1998 and 1999. In addition to the Model UN, Dr. Naniuzeyi has exposed students to the Model African Union conference and hosted the Southeast Regional Model African Union conference at Savannah State University in 2011 and 2012. As the Director of the International Education Center, Dr. Naniuzeyi provides students for opportunities to participate in study abroad and exchange programs.
