Dr. Tuggle is a licensed social worker with more than 10 years of practice experience. In her current role as Director of Field Education/Assistant Professor, she brings micro level experience as a behavioral health clinician and macro level expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based programs, providing capacity building assistance to support public and private agency efforts to integrate research and practice, and conducting basic and applied behavior and social science research. Prior to joining the social work faculty at Savannah State University in 2014, Dr. Tuggle was employed with the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services, where she served as State Director for Georgia’s Personal Responsibility Education Program (GA-PREP), a federally funded youth development and health education program. A rising scholar and student of life, Dr. Tuggle is committed to helping public and private agencies build the organizational and programmatic capacity required to administer positive youth development programming. Dr. Tuggle holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University, a Master’s degree in Social Work from the Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Relations from Atlanta Christian College.
