Biography

Dr. Edoh Agbehonou is a Lecturer of Political Science and Public Affairs at Savannah State University. He obtained his PhD in International Conflict Management at Kennesaw State University (School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development), where he taught lower and upper level courses of Political Science and International Affairs for four years. He holds a MS in Conflict Management and BA in International Affairs, and B.A. in Literature and Foreign Language (French). Dr. Agbehonou received a Global Learning Certification Award with Distinction for his in-depth understanding of global issues and cultures. He teaches Peacemaking, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, Global Issues, Comparative Politics, International Law & Organizations, Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods. Dr. Agbehonou served as an Intern in Conflict Resolution Program at The Carter Center, where he reviewed and edited project proposal for submitting to Senior Management and President Jimmy Carter. He also served for five years as a Principal/Academic Director of “L’Eclat Succes,” a private Secondary School in Togo (West Africa). In 2015, Dr. Agbehonou had the privilege to conduct a series of human rights trainings to a team of US troops from Fort Stewart who have been deployed to Chad to train over 750 Chadian troops for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

Research Interests

His research focuses on radicalization and terrorism, electoral systems design, political institutions, democracy and democratization, prevention of post-election conflicts, American foreign policy, international relations with Africa, African politics, comparative foreign policy, human rights, reconciliation and peacebuilding, traditional justice, strategies and theories of nonviolent conflict resolution as applied to Africa, Middle East, and North America.
