Dr. Catherine R. Gayle is native of Savannah Georgia where she attended the area public schools. She obtained an under-graduate degree from Tuskegee University in Social Work and was accepted into the Advanced Standing Master’s Program at Florida State University where she obtained her Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Social Work. She also obtained a PH. D from Clark -Atlanta University in Social Work Administration with a Cognate Specialization in Education.
Her employment history spans from Program Manager, Clinical Director to Academician. Dr. Gayle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Masters Level Addiction Counselor. She has chaired the Department of Social Work at: Miles College and Tuskegee University. In 2016, Dr. Gayle travelled to Nairobi, Kenya where she was invited to speak at various educational and spiritual gatherings. A Fulbright –Hays Scholar; Dr. Gayle will conduct research at Ghana to conduct research. Presently, Dr. Gayle is a Tenured- Associate Professor and serves as Chair of the Department of Social Work at Savannah State University. She served on two National Boards-Baccalaureate Program Directors and a Commission on Accreditation for the Council On Social Work Education.
Dr. Gayle, a Licensed Minister is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
