Autumn Johnson was appointed Information Literacy Librarian at Savannah State University in September 2013. Johnson is responsible for coordinating, promoting, and assessing Asa H. Gordon Library’s instructional program. She serves as the Library Liaison to the First-Year Experience program and to disciplines in the Social and Behavior Sciences Department including Africana Studies, Behavior Analysis, Criminal Justice, History, and Sociology.
An active member of several professional organizations, Johnson has held leadership positions in the Coastal Georgia Library Collaborative (CGLC), CSRA Library Association (CSRALA) and the Palmetto Archives, Libraries, and Museums Council on Preservation (PALMCOP). She is currently a member of both the American Libraries Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries. Most recently, Johnson presented research at the 2016 Digital Commons Southeast User Group and the 2016 Join Conference of Georgia COMO and the Southeastern Library Association.
