Biography

Dr. Adeyemo joined Savannah State University as a full professor in the Fall of 1991. He attained professorial rank in 1988 at the University of Ibadan - a PhD granting institution and from a PhD granting Chemistry Department. Dr. Adeyemo earned Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (Magna Cum Laude), 1975) from Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia and PhD degree Inorganic Chemistry (Magna Cum Laude, 1978) from Howard University, Washington, D.C. Dr. Adeyemo is a chatered Chemist and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, England. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Carver Research Foundation, Tuskegee Institute, Alabama and Meharry Medical College , Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Adeyemo is the adviser of Beta Kappa Chi National Honor Society and National Organization for the Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE). Since joining Savannah State University, Dr. Adeyemo has been privileged to teach Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Principles of Chemistry and Chemical Calculations. Dr. Adeyemo is a licensed and ordained Minister of the Gospel. Dr. Adeyemo attended and taught at Covington Theological Seminary where he earned Master of Ministry (M.Min.), Master of Theology (Th.M.), Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Doctor of Ministry in Bible (D.Min.Bi), Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Studies (D. Min.PS), Doctor of Ministry in Theology (D.Min.Th), Doctor of Religious Education (D.R.E.), Doctor of Theology (Th.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Christian Counseling (Ph.DCC.). Dr. Adeyemo has and continues to supervise undergraduate research projects. Dr. Adeyemo is devoted and committed to preparing our students for graduate schools, professional schools and gainful employment after graduating from Savannah State University

Research Interests

Synthesis and characterization of coordination compounds with potential anti-cancer and anti-HIV properties:Porphyrins and metalloporphyrins. Phthalocyanines and their metal derivatives,. and vitamin B1 metal complexes
