GenCyber - Summer Camp

SSU conducted its 1st GenCyber Summer Camp in June 2018, through funding from the National Security Agency, and has conducted 2 more (2019, 2021).  SSU has been funded by NSA to conduct a 4th GenCyber summer camp in summer 2022.  Starting from the 1st program, when 37 seven middle school students (grades 6-8) participated, the summer camps are now serving 50 students each summer. The students receive  hands on instruction in cybersecurity first principles, including how to calibrate, configure, and program Raspberry Pis and how to encypt messages as well as instruction on cyberbullying and online ethics.  For more information about the camp, please contact the camp director,  Mr. Alberto de la Cruz, Computer Science Technology, at delacruz@savannahstate.edu or 912-358-4267 or go to SSU GenCyber Webpage
