Outreach Services

Mission

The mission of Outreach Services at Asa H. Gordon Library is to cultivate library awareness within the college community. It is important to build relationships and to sponsor a diverse array of academic and nonacademic programs, which serve the Savannah State University community. Outreach Services does this by making contact with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the public; fostering collaboration with campus leaders; and increasing awareness of the Library's service mission as it relates to the academic mission of Savannah State University.

This will be achieved by:

  • Hosting engaging events and sponsoring programs in the Asa H. Gordon library to support Savannah State University’s academic mission to reach a wide-spectrum of the community.
  • Partnering and cosponsoring activities/programs alongside faculty, staff, and students.
  • Nurturing relationships on behalf of the Library to establish new outlets for increased visibility and involvement with Savannah State University and the broader community.
