On Saturday, January 27, the participants met again for another workshop. Dr. Emmanuel Naniuzeyi, the project director, used the first 45 minutes to review the health and safety matters to prepare the participants for the trip to Ghana. Mr. Arthur Dozier, the second facilitator, reviewed the various cultural, historical, and religious aspects of Ghana. He shared his experiences traveling to Ghana for the past 15 years. - Purpose of the Fulbright-Hays Group project Abroad: Dr. Emmanuel Naniuzeyi made a presentation on the purpose of the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad. He explained the outcomes of the 2015 project and discussed the rationale for expanding the curricular activities initiated under the previous project.
- Social Studies Curriculum: Dr. Chris Mercer reviewed the social studies curriculum in the SCCPSS and discussed the opportunities to strengthen it through the Fulbright-Hays project.
- Individual projects: Ms. Jacelyn Ledford who participated in the 2015 project made a presentation on how to develop individual projects. She shared her project with the participants and explained how she developed a website and assignments that stimulate students’ interest in Ghana.
