Federal Work / Study Job Openings

Listed below are the current Federal Work / Study (FWS) positions. If selected for an interview, students will need to visit the Office of Financial Aid to receive a FWS Eligibility Letter. Students are reminded to dress appropriately for the job interview and inquiry.


Community Service - Effingham Victim-Witness ($9.00 an hour)

Duties:

• Clerical duties

• Answering phones

• Organization

• All in-office tasks 

Requirements:

• Clear criminal background record (especially no violent crime charges)

• Tact when dealing with people who are upset

• Compassion to clients who are fleeing abuse

Community Service - Inspiritus ($9.00 an hour)

Duties:

• Greet clients

• Answer phone at front desk

• Assist with the filing of documents

• Data entry

• General clerical work (filing, faxing, copying)

Position is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays only.

Requirements:

• Clean background

• Willingness to learn

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred

• Comfortable with entering simple data

Community Service - Park Place Outreach ($9.00 an hour)

Duties:

Park Place Outreach is a homeless teen shelter seeking a part time employee to assist with house maintenance, handy person tasks, yard work and other light duty tasks. 

Requirements:

Hard working, good with hands, energetic, eager to take on new tasks, basic knowledge and some experience with handyman and yard work tasks.

Person must clear background check.

Financial Aid – Phone Center Assistant

Duties:

The student will be responsible for answering inquiries and providing information for the general public. Duties will include assisting the office in a variety of customer service related tasks; such as, answering phones to address general questions, connecting caller to appropriate campus offices, greeting and assisting visitors from diverse backgrounds (i.e. age, scion-economic status, gender, etc.) with completion of FAFSA and Verification Portal, work Open House and New Student Orientation events scheduled on various weekends, and other duties assigned.

Requirements:

Student must be trustworthy, dependable, professional, and customer service oriented. Student must have good communication skills to include pleasant phone etiquette, neat appearance, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Student must keep all financial aid matters confidential due to the sensitive nature of content handled. Student must possess the ability to work without constant supervision.
