NOAA Marine Science Expansion

Includes replacement of SSU's largest vessel, development of a boat launching ramp on campus, and modifications to the the marine sciences building.
The new vessel is being built by Newton Boats, Inc. in Slidell, LA.
It is a 36-foot vessel for marine sciences research and instruction with USCG certificate of inspection for 22 passengers and 2 crew. It should have close to 155 square feet of aft deck space including that used for installation of stern A-frame/winch and side davit/winch, 100 square feet of interior cabin space, controls mounted in a flybridge and second set of controls against the aft deck cabin, and a separate enclosed head and two bunks not located in the main cabin area.
