Department Copiers

What do I do for service?

Please call the SSU Document Center at x4220.  The staff there will assist you, or will place a call to Xerox Service on your behalf.  Depending on the issue, the Document Center staff may first provide phone assistance, personal assistance, and/or provide you with training on the issue.

How do I get toner for my MFD (Multi-Functional Device)?

Most of the time the toner for your machine will be in stock in the Document Center.  As soon as you receive a notification on your equipment that toner is low, e-mail the Document Center at ssudoc@savannahstate.edu.  In that email, please provide the model and serial number of your machine, your location, your contact phone number, and your Mail Center Box Number.  Later that day or the next day, you will receive the correct toner with your mail, or you may pick it up at the Document Center.  Sometimes Xerox sends the toner directly to the department instead of to the Center.  Should you receive a shipment of toner directly, please contact the Document Center at x4220 so that they can arrange to pick this up from your department, if it is not needed for your equipment at that time.

How can I replace staples in my MFD?

Call the Xerox Help Desk at 1-800-230-0201.  The information listed below will be needed to process an order.

The charge for the staples will be included on the fleet invoice received by Auxiliary Services.  The cost is charged back to your department when the invoice is allocated.

What if I need to have my MFD moved?

If your office is moving, please make sure that you include the cost to move the MFD.  These are estimated costs:

Please e-mail Crystal Capers at capersc@savannahstate.edu at least two weeks in advance. She can assist in coordinating your copier move and provide you with an exact amount of the cost. Please note that Xerox can only move copiers on Thursdays.

How can I print to my MFD?

If you are not yet set up for printing, please contact the SSU Document Center at x4220, and they will be able to assist you. Your may wish to consider setting up faculty and staff computers to print to your MFD, since you will be paying less than $.01 for each black and white copy made on your MFD compared to an average of between $.03 and $.06 for most black and white printers.

What other assistance can be provided?

Setting your print/copy default to double-sided, adding accounting codes for budget allocation and turning banner pages on or off are services that can be provided to you. Please call the SSU Document Center at x4220 for assistance.
