Africana Studies

The Africana studies program provides students with the opportunity to study and research the history and culture of Africans and African Americans. Africana studies majors are employed in schools, museums, libraries, archives and agencies committed to preserving African and African-American culture. Africana studies prepares students to pursue graduate studies in history, psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, law and related fields.

Africana Studies Club

The Africana Studies Club promotes an understanding of the historical and contemporary experiences of the people of Africa and the African diaspora.The club promotes and hosts programs and activities, both educational and social, including movie series, guest speaker lectures, symposia, local community involvement, fundraisers and events in honor of Africana history and culture throughout the year.
