Why Camino

We want to help all Latinos in Georgia! CAMINO will prepare students for success in post-secondary education by creating academic and social support systems that begins in high school and continues through post-secondary completion. Simultaneously we will be working with partners in business and policy sectors to build a pipeline for Latino students to move into meaningful employment.

According to the 2010 census, the Hispanic American population in Georgia experienced the largest increase in the nation: nearly 400%. The goal of CAMINO is to create systemic change that leads to the doubling, by 2016, of the number of Latino students who matriculate in and graduate with high quality degrees and credentials from three of the post secondary institutions of higher learning in Southeast Georgia.
