To continually ensure that Savannah State University is compliant with NCAA bylaws, rules and regulations; provide oversight for institutional and capital projects management; and ensure that our campus is safe. As a member of the President's Cabinet, the Vice President for Administration (VPA) is responsible for providing leadership and vision to the university's administrative operations. The VPA provides executive-level direction and management support to the planning, developing, directing and controlling functions of the following units: Athletics, Physical Plant (which includes facilities planning, design, and construction), and Public Safety.
The VPA also provides administrative direction to the President's Office and acts as a liaison within and outside the University for the President. This position represents the University's interests within the University System of Georgia, and with a variety of vendors and other external constituencies.
The VPA also chairs the Emergency Planning Task Force (EPTF) that is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Emergency Action and Disaster Management Plan (EADMP). On a day-to-day basis, the VPA oversees the activities of the EPTF. This plan establishes university processes, policies, and procedures to provide efficient utilization of all resources on the Savannah State University campus, minimize the loss of life and/or injury, and protect and conserve resources and facilities of Savannah State University in large-scale emergencies and disasters.
