The Mass Communications Club

Counting Down to Success!

Savannah State University

Founded in the mid-1980s, the purpose of club is to foster educational experiences for students who are majoring or minoring in mass  communications.   The club serves and supports various activities sponsored by the department, such as the annual Southern Regional Press Institute, a two-day  Southeast regional mass media conference.   In addition, the club also provides its members with  internship and scholarship information, and other pertinent career information, including planned  trips to area conferences and media workshops.    Members have the opportunity to  broaden their educational experiences, and improve their communication skills,  by submitting stories and other work to the Tiger’s Roar for publication.  They may also work at the university’s radio station, WHCJ-FM, 90.3.  View the following links to learn more about the Mass Communications Club and Counting Down to Success.
