Miss Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Drive
The Gamma Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated are preparing for our annual Miss Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Pageant. The Miss Phi Beta Sigma Pageant is a Scholarship program in which the recipient is expected to exemplify the qualities of academic excellence, positive morale, community orientation, and eminent talent. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. continues to work to help make a difference in lives of students at Savannah State University. Therefore, continued work and collaborative partnerships are essential to help accomplish this goal in supporting students in financial and scholastic obligations. Today, you can make an immediate difference in the life of a participant. Each dollar you send provides help towards our long achieved goal of scholarship and service. The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma hosted a halftime event at a recent Men's Basketball game entitle Dash for Cash. During the week prior to the game Phi Beta Sigma presold tickets for $1.00. Participants who paid for a ticket were entered into a drawing. The winners of the drawings were announce at the game. Three contestants were called to the arena floor and given 30 seconds to grab as much cash as they could. The winner would be determined by who collected the most money. Eddie Singleton a Sophomore at Savannah State won the Dash for Cash.
The Sigma reached a milestone recently when the became the first Greek Organization to tailgate at a SSU Baseball Game. The cookout drew many people out to watch the SSU tigers in action.The SThe
Congratulations To The Gamma Zeta Step Team
Recently the Gamma Zeta Step team competed in the Seaport Stomp fest. The team was awarded First Place. The event featured the step team of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. from Savannah State University, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. from Georgia Southern, and Omega Psi Phi from Savannah State University. The Gamma Zeta Step Team will travel to Americus, GA to compete in a step show hosted by Georgia Southwestern State University.
