The Mission of the
International Students’ Association of
Savannah State University
is to educate students, faculty and staff about the importance
of diversity, to organize and participate in cultural programs
with emphasis on cultural awareness, to promote unity among
students of different races and ethnic backgrounds and to serve
as a support group and resource center for international
students at SSU while being a mentor to high school and
elementary school students in the community.
ISA also cosponsors various
Cultural Nights, where students from a specific country present
an evening of traditional food and entertainment. The main event
of the International Students' Association is the International
Week Festival that culminates with the International night.
Every year during the Spring semester, one whole week is
dedicated to celebrating the International Week Festivities.
Each day of the week is assigned to celebrate a different aspect
of International Culture. During the course of the week,
students from all over the world put up displays and information
tables about their countries.
