COBA Organizations
As a compliment to the academic base of a student's college experience, COBA provides access to several professional student organizations. Through participation, students have many opportunities to develop the skills necessary to compete effectively in civic, business, global, governmental and not-for-profit arenas as business graduates. The organizations are as follows:
Association Of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) - Dr. Hae Yeon Choi, Advisor Mission/Goals: The AITP purpose is to foster among students a better understanding of the vital business role of information technology, the proper relationship of information technology to management and the necessity for a professional attitude among information technology professionals in their approach to an understanding and application of the principles underlying the science of information technology.
Accounting Association -Ms. Maliece Whatley, MAcc, CPA, Advisory
Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Mission/Goals: To provide a dynamic forum for management accounting and finance professionals to develop and advance their careers through certification, research and practice development, education, networking, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and professional practices.
Georgia Society of CPAs Mission/Goals: The mission of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants is to help members achieve their vision of the future by: Providing leadership in a changing environment, Offering opportunities to learn and demonstrate skills critical to success, Promoting and advancing the accounting profession, and Fostering high standards of integrity and objectivity.
National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Mission/Goals: The Savannah State University Student Chapter of NABA shall unite through membership accounting students who have similar interests and ideals are committed to academic and future professional excellence, a sense of professional and civic responsibility, and are concerned with enhancing opportunities for minorities in the accounting profession.
PHI BETA LAMBDA -
Mission/Goals: Develop competent, aggressive business leadership. Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their world. Create more interest in and understanding of the American business enterprise. Encourage members in the development of individual projects that contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community. Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism. Encourage and practice efficient money management. Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty. Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals. Facilitate the transition from school to work.
Society For The Advancement Of Management (SAM) -
Mission/Goals: To provide an opportunity for the members to increase management skills and expertise through participation in programs and services designed to improve the professional quality of their knowledge, performance and leadership ability.

Mission/Goals: The Mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.
