Master of Science
in Urban Studies
The 2013 Urban Planning Conference at Savannah State University campus
The Master of Science in Urban Studies and Planning Program (MSUSP) is committed to preparing graduate students with the knowledge and applied skill-base necessary to excel in the urban studies and planning field. Faculty members offer a curriculum that cultivates engaged learning through a social justice and service learning framework. Upon completion of our program, degree students will be able to assess major themes and developmental processes of American cities; describe principle planning theories and best practices; interpret and conduct primary research methods; prepare a master’s thesis or capstone project; apply practical planning and/or community development tools; analyze urban policy practices, the role of capital markets, and social intervention strategies; and debate urban theory and planning practices.
