CLASS Vision Statement
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) at Savannah State University fosters a nationally and internationally recognized academic institution that supports a student-centered learning environment. The college promotes the intellectual independence and growth of its students and faculty in scholarship, research, creative activities and community service. It is a center of learning that transmits and affirms the significance of the African American legacy. CLASS fashions the unique multicultural identity of the University through its academic programs and assumes an activist role in community change.
CLASS offers programs that provide broad-based learning in a variety of subjects to develop critical thinking abilities, communication skills, work experience and community involvement. Our highly qualified professors take the time to get to know each student as an individual, encouraging their expression and creativity in a challenging and supportive learning environment.
CLASS offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees that prepare students for success in their chosen field of study. Students in CLASS learn more about themselves and the world around them through dedicated classroom instruction, state-of-the-art facilities, and outstanding co-curricular opportunities such as study abroad, internships, community service and participation in a diverse array of student organizations.
