ACCUPLACER Test

The ACCUPLACER test is required for some students as a part of their admission application for Savannah State University. The purpose of the ACCUPLACER test is to determine the individual skill level and readiness in reading, writing and math. The ACCUPLACER score results are only one factor of multiple measures used in the undergraduate admission process and course placement

The ACCUPLACER is a computer-adaptive test offered several times throughout each semester. The multiple choice ACCUPLACER tests are untimed with the writing being timed for 60 minutes. Eligibility and/or approval to take the ACCUPLACER is based upon the status of a completed SSU admission application. For more information on the status of your admission application, contact the Office of Admission 912.358.4338 or email them at admissions@savannahstate.edu.

SSU applicants who are eligible or required to take the ACCUPLACER test, based on their admission status (CHECK YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION STATUS), may schedule to take the test on campus or, with test voucher from SSU Testing Office, at a college/or university in your home area (if more than 100 miles outside the radius of Savannah, GA).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All sections of the test are untimed with the exception of the Write Placer which is timed for one hour. It takes approximately two (2) hours to complete all parts of the test. A calculator is embedded into the test for some items, if allowed; therefore, hand-held or outside calculators are not allowed. The initial test at SSU campus is free; however the non-refundable retest fee is $10 payable online at the time of registration. Remember, most remote test centers will charge a test fee to be paid by student prior to testing.
