The University System of Georgia tracks both students who enrolled in and graduated from their freshman institution ("SSU: Institution Specific Graduation") and those who enrolled in any and graduated from any institution within the University System of Georgia. For the purposes of graduation and retention rate comparisons, SSU considers a smaller grouping of similar institutions within the University System of Georgia. These similar institutions, called "USG State Universities," are of similar size, entrance requirements, and program offerings (e.g., Master's level degrees).

* SSU Grad rate for 1998 cohort is artificially inflated due to erroneous reporting of 1998 SIRS data to BOR. SSU under-reported enrollment by 198 cases; artificial depression in freshman "N", lowers denominator for calculation, raising rates.
